Chris’s 2006 Chevy Silverado

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Today's truck was submitted by Chris. His 2006 Chevy Silverado LBZ Duramax 3500HD, Allison 6-speed Automatic was purchased from Larry Fannin Chevrolet.

"I bought my truck to be used as a tow rig for hauling our horses, farm equipment, hay, etc. The truck has performed perfectly with everything that i have hauled, and i couldnt be more happy with the power of it. The initial intent of it being just a work rig didnt last long after i learned how to unleash more power out of my truck. I now also use it as my daily driver/play truck when im not towing anything."

Performance Parts Installed:

Edge Juice with Attitude, 4" MBRP cat-back exhaust with 5" pollished stainless steel tip. Turbo Resonator plugged.

Steve’s Chevy Silverado

Monday, August 25th, 2008

This truck was purchased brand new from Carr Chevy of Beaverton, OR. It is a 2007 Silverado-LT 2500HD Crew Cab, Short Bed, Classic w/ Duramax +Alison Transmission, XM Radio, Sunroof, and much much more!

"Purchased new as one of the last 2007 "Classic" Silverado 3/4 ton Duramax units on the lot.

A working diesel, not a driveway queen: I tow a 30' Outback TT and haul 650lbs of astronomy instruments with my truck. Of the 16,000+ miles on the truck, over 12,000 have had the trailer behind.

First "road trip" for this truck and my then new Outback trailer travelled from Portland to Nora Springs, Iowa in May 2007. We encountered road-closing blizzards on the way to and from, in MAY! Roads closed in Wyoming from Rawlins to Laramie and again on the way home in Montana between Bozeman and Butte. Go figure...

The truck has been border to border in the west, but only as far east as the Mississippi River. Yes, we have driven on the Beach in Oregon.

Earlier this summer, I used the truck to uproot trees in my yard. With about 600 lbs of balast in the bed, low-range and 4WD, everything was going fine. The Silverado Duramax combination was winning all the battles. Then, the darn 40,000 lb rated chain broke. I had to double the left-overs of the chain to get the last tree out... The Silverado still won the day. Like I said, a working truck..."

Carr Chevy also installed the performance and exterior accessories on this Crew Cab trailer hauler

  • AirRaid
  • MBRP 5" cat-back exhaust
  • Edge Juice w/Attitude
  • Billsteins
  • Wrangler Silent Armor tires
  • Leer hard tonneau cover with red and white LED lights + Remote Locking integration
  • Bed-Slide load mgmt
  • Mud Flaps
  • Nurf Bars
  • Rain Drip Shields
  • PIAA Wipers and bulbs

Steve's word of advice is:

"DON'T sipe your tires on a truck with this HP and torque. It will tear the rubber right off the tires. I got replacement Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor tires at 9,000 miles after large chunks of tread started coming off of the original siped Silent Armors. To their credit, Discount Tires stood behind the problem 100%. NO charge to me! NO problems with the replacements."

Congratulations Steve on your beautiful towing machine!

Scott’s 2003 7.3L Powerstroke

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Today's truck gets the "most stuff" award. Definitely one of the most unique trucks that we have featured on Truck Profile. We have a 2003 7.3L Ford SuperDuty Powerstroke that makes a stock truck look like a P50 Microvehicle (can of tuna...maybe smaller). Scott purchased this truck brand new in 2003 from Uftring Motor Mall in East Peoria IL.

"I bought the truck in 03 because diesel fuel was cheaper at the time. Then i added a lift kit and wheels and started to show it at car shows and would win first place, then i was hooked. As all of you can see i did not stop adding to the truck and still today with over $60,000 in it, Im not done.

Everyone asks,  "have you ever taken it off road mudden?". Yes, i have! The first year i got it, went out ditch bang en' and snow drift en' with mud and snow jam packed under the entire body, frame and motor compartment. It took 2 weeks of cleaning and detailing. This truck now does not even see rain or dirt. It is for show only and i drive it too about 30 car -truck shows a year."

As for performance... "It has a heavy duty waste gate & wicked wheel from dieselsite.com. K&N filter, 4" polished stainless cool dual exhaust MBRP, Hypertech programmer, and a few little goodies to help me get 70 psi of fuel pressure and 30lbs of boost. The egt's stay right around 600."

On the outside we have... "Roll Bars, Bull Bar, PIAA Lights, all Chrome Bumper, Ram Air Hood, Lift Kit and Nitto Mud Grapplers."

Scott does ALL of the work and would not even let the dealership touch his truck for the cam sensor recall. The custom flames under the wheel wells took Scott 200 hours, were made from .250" flat stock, cut, filed and buffed to perfection.

This Ford Diesel has about 50 1st place trophies include, Best of Show, Best Interior, Best FORD and Mayors choice.

Scott would like to thank APM Ram air hood, MBRP exhaust, Westin bull bar, Road Max auto polished grill, Boze tow hooks, Recon accessories, Vertical doors, Weld racing, K&N filter, discount tire direct, GoRhino, 101 corvette, e-gauges, Weld racing, Fabtech for their contributions to his truck.

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Attention everyone! We would like to welcome our first GM vehicle to the "truck of the day"! Today's GM was submitted by Larry. Larry's truck is a 2004.5 Chevy "LLY" with the Duramax Diesel Engine. It was purchased from All American Chevy and according to Larry, was a "test mule" for LLY and LBZ Duramax Performance Parts.

This truck certainly has its share of performance parts. Installed we have...

  • Cheetah 71.5mm Turbo by Fleece Performance
  • Mike L. Built Transmission
  • Super Diesel Modded Regulator
  • EFI Live Tuning
  • Fass 150/95 Lift Pump
  • EGR Delete
  • 5" Straight piped
  • Cal-tracs
  • Modified LBZ Intake Parts
  • Modified fuel rail
  • and more!

Larry does 0-60 in 5.1 seconds and does mid 13's in the 1/4 mile! There are 8 custom gauges on the inside of this truck for all of the different things he has installed on his truck. This truck is on its 5th transmission!

All of the badges are stripped and the whole truck has been painted red. This truck is used for work, play, towing and racing. Nice truck Larry and Congrats on being our first GM truck on the site!

Eric’s 2006 Dodge Ram SLT

Friday, August 15th, 2008

This is Eric's 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 SLT that he bought locally from Larry Vickers Dodge which is now Royston Dodge. Eric bought this truck mostly for play and show, but he does enjoy using it for some occasional racing and towing.

"The truck has mostly been a daily driver. I do use it for some occasional towing, but nothing serious. I have always wanted a dually truck and it had to have a Cummins under the hood. I was lucky enough to find the exact truck I wanted without having to special order it. The truck started as a project the day I bought it. With a vision in my head, I went with it. It was a vision that I have had ever since I was a kid. I have always loved big rigs and dually trucks, so this is what I ended up with. Now it's finished! Well, at least I think it is. So, now it's really more of a weekend warrior for me. Just something to play with and enjoy while being different from everyone else."

Eric is proud to say that he has done every modification on this truck except the Rhino Liner. This Includes...

Performance Mods:

  • Quadzilla Xzillaraider II Race Module
  • CFM+ intake
  • AEM Workhorse HD Cold Air Intake
  • Banks Monster Dual Exhaust with an MBRP Test Pipe

Exterior Accessories:

  • Rhino truck bed lining
  • RDX full billet grille
  • RDX billet bumper insert
  • Kodiak Sidewinder Power Retractable Steps
  • ReadyLift 2" leveling kit
  • 22.5" Classic Alcoa wheels
  • 255/70 Sumitomo ST 727 tires

On the interior he added Isspro gauges mounted in a 3 gauge dash pod. (Boost, Pyrometer, Fuel Pressure).

Other Customizations include Debadged, Safelite rear sliding window, Sylvania Silverstar high performance headlight and driving light bulbs, Kilby's condenser guard, Dual Rectangular Semi Truck Air Horns with an onboard air supply, Tinted windows.

This 2006 Dodge Cummins took 1st place in the 2000 & newer truck class at the 20th Annual "Fun In The Sun" All Mopar Show at Chilhowee Park Knoxville, TN.

With just a few passes the best time in the 1/8th mile is 10.17 seconds with his 6sp manual transmission. 0-60 time is 2.35 seconds. Eric says he is done unless he see's something that he just has to have.

Nick’s 2001 Dodge Ram 2500

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

This is a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Sport with a 24V Cummins Turbo Diesel engine. The only performance modification he has made is a Holley Blue Pump. However, Nick hopes to add a 5inch exhaust and chip eventually. Another modification that Nick has made is the Cummins stickers. Rumor has it that Cummins stickers will actually add another 25-50HP just by being on the truck. Maybe we can get Nick to confirm that.

Inside the truck is a new deck and 2 - 12 inch kenwood subs with a 900 watt rockford fostgate amp. Nick does all of the modifications and add ons himself, and would like to add a set of towing mirrors and a 2 inch leveling kit before long. This truck is used for work, play and towing.

Thanks Nick, now can we get any Chevy, Toyota and Nissan guys to submit their trucks?

Billi’s Dodge

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Billi Ney only submitted 2 pictures with no information. However, we could not help but post this really cool picture that  you see below. Its a nice truck! And from the looks of it, he has a LOT of fun. We are going to guess that this Dodge is a Diesel judging by the pitch blackness inside the exhaust pipe from the lower picture. Plus, it appears that he has a 5" tip, which would also imply that this is probably a Cummins powered rig. Thanks Billi, and when you get a chance, SEND US MORE INFO!! BTW, nice lights.

Davids new Dodge

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

David wanted to show us his new Dodge pickup that he recently purchased in Colorado Springs. Its a 2008 2500 Laramie MegaCab. It has a 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel. The only thing that David has done so far is install the Westin Signature Steps. Its a beautiful machine, congratulations David on your first diesel!

Walt’s 2003 Ford F-350

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

Walt purchased his F350 in Pennsylvania. It was a former New Jersey state truck that was used in the clean up of the twin towers. This truck was bought for work during the week and play on the weekends.

Most all of the work and modifications to the truck were made by Walt. He was even pulled over once just so that the trooper could compliment the truck. Here is what he has:

Performance Parts:

  • Air Intake
  • Updated injectors
  • Fuel regulator mod
  • Banks six-gun w\pda
  • T\C lock up switch
  • High idle mod
  • Straight exhaust before the tire
  • ATS Transmission and five star torque converter

Walt still does not know what his 1/4 Mile time is because he broke his transmission at the track! Which, is probably why he is now running an ATS.

For the Exterior we have:

  • Sun visor lights
  • 20inch diamo rims
  • Nitto mudgrapplers
  • 3inch lift
  • Smoked tail lights & headlights
  • Blue turn signals
  • LOTS of lights
  • Pin striping
  • Window tint
  • Rhino liner

On the interior, he has:

  • A Pioneer head unit
  • 2 12inch subs
  • CB radio
  • LOTS of switches
  • PDA
  • Blue gauge lights

One time Walt went to rescue one of his friends' F250 out of a mud bog. They all said, "Nobody has ever made it through the bog". So Walt proved them wrong by going through the bog in 2WD! (Successfully)

Its a fine looking rig, Walt! Personally, I'm a big fan of the lights. Nothing like lighting the road up all around you while traveling at night.
